While they may not be the most ideal footwear choice for our summer camp, we can’t help but love a fab pair of high heels. Whether they are avant garde and architectural, colourful and chunky, or sleek, simple and classic – we love ‘em all!

The ones we like the best, though are those that don’t even exist…. well, at least not physically. Conceptually, in the minds of our CC Designers, they are alive and well and couldn’t be any more amazing. We got a chance to see some of the designs at our summer camp program through our Shoe-a-holics project. Inspiration ran the gamut from avocados to aqua and the designs showed so much personality using all sorts of materials, from feathers, to zippers, to snakeskin to sequins.

Last summer at camp we had a few international campers, one of which was named Mathilde who hails from France. The French sure do know their fashion and this teen was no exception. She was super stylish, had great ideas for her projects and even influenced us musically in our jet-set, travel themed Fashion Show, Passport to Style. On the last day of every session at our summer camp we put on a final fashion show showcasing some of the wares our CC Designers have made. It’s such a thrill watching every girl strut their stuff on the runway. They are honestly so proud of the things that they have accomplished at camp; their fierceness really shows.

Some girls come in on the first day totally runway ready with enthusiasm to spare. However, some come in shy and a little scared to walk out on the runway on their own, but we make our practice and rehearsals fun to ease their fears. All of the girls end up full of confidence and excitement in front of the big crowd of family and friends. With fun styling, music blasting and the crown cheering, it’s an amazing way to end the program.

Each year, when in the throes of camp prep, we scour the net for trends that can provide inspiration for great, of-the-moment projects. Last year, the majority of our projects fell into one of the following categories and made for some pretty stylish clothing, accessories and jewelry.

Any guesses as to what our mood boards might be showing this season?

At CC we believe anything is possible with the right attitude. It’s all about how you think. With that said, we challenge you to think in high fashion and we guarantee you will be amazed with the results of what you are capable of!

This letter from Brooke in Session III during the summer of ’11 melted our hearts.  From the House of Dior, she totally rocked her photoshoot, had amazing ideas for her projects and had great spirit throughout camp. Thanks for the love Brooke!

There is something about this long golden yellow dress that appeals to us. The bling’d out belt doesn’t hurt either. (And although she may be lacking in social decencies and tact, Olivia P sure knows how to pick out an style an outfit.)

This spring we will be all about MAXI – dresses and skirts, that is. That’s right,  we don’t discriminate. Both styles will be worn by us when the weather turns warm even though the skirts have taken over the dresses and are considered more on trend.

What’s your take?

Today at CC we spent the day preparing for the Fashion Illustration Specialty for this upcoming summer camp season. We definitely have some fun in store for our CC Designers! While working away we came across some of our favourite illustrators/designers in our collected catalogue, and we just had to share the talent of Jason Wu. Not only does he design and create beautiful pieces for us ladies to wear, he is super talented with the pen (or marker and ink!)
